Wedding Outs and Ins for 2010

There will be a fresh new face for weddings in 2010.  Gone are the trends of the past few years.  The brides for 2010 and beyond, are bolder, brighter, and more casual.
I’ve been doing some comprehensive research into new wedding trends.  Here is what I discovered:
  • Home Sweet Home – is the desired location for many weddings.  The guest list will be smaller, and both casual and lavish weddings will take place at the bride’s home.
  • Destination Weddings – are within driving distance from the bride’s home.  Due to the economy, 2010 brides will be staying closer to home, as opposed to asking guests to fly to a location.
  • Eco Friendly- Brides are becoming more aware of protecting our natural resources.
  • Homemade Guest Favors – making something for your guests is treasured by them, and is a great way to express your personality.
  • Specialty Lighting – is gaining favor.  Today’s brides realize how important lighting is to creating a romantic ambience, and to highlight a room.
  • Monochromatic Color Schemes – various shades of the same color, with the colors for 2010 being bold and vibrant.  Orange, purple, pink, and a revival of yellow will be seen.  Also popular are muted shades of copper, silver, gold, and pewter.  Black and white, or black, turquoise, and red are hot.
  • HD Video – integrated with photos will replace the standard photography photo package.
  • Red Wedding Dresses – along with mini-wedding dresses and vintage looks with birdcage veils.  Check out Maggie Sottero’s collection of red wedding dresses http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZTtZyMCslI
  • Mismatched Bridesmaids Dresses – You choose the color, they choose the dress.
  • Landscape Centerpieces – as opposed to multiples.  Trees, plants, etc. replace the custom flower centers.
Trends that are Gone:
  • The Color Chocolate – the trend of the past three years of chocolate bridesmaids dresses has past.
  • Fondant Cake Icing – Buttercream is IN.
  • Line Dances – with the exception of the Cha-Cha Slide, are out and choreographed bride and groom dances are IN
  • Strapless Wedding Gowns – while still popular, are being replaced with one-shouldered, off the shoulder, or dresses with cap sleeves.
Your wedding is still your wedding.  Personalize it to fit your style, personality, and budget.  You have lots of options, so let your creative mind flow freely to create your special day.

Swinging Mademoiselles: 60’s Inspired Wedding Dresses

While the US and UK were swinging in the 60’s with the beatnik, mod and hippie cultures, France had a fashionable youth movement of it’s own going on. Called “yé-yé” (French for “yeah, yeah!”), this was a brand of French pop musicFrancoise Hardy that led the teen music and fashion scene in France for most of the 1960’s. At the forefront were “the yéyé girls”, French teen songbirds like Brigitte Bardot, Francoise Hardy, France Gall and Sylvie Vartan. They sang songs and sported looks that were unmistakably French- girly, coy and sexy, while tomboyish, sassy and brainy at the same time.

Contemporary French dress designers are paying homage to the swinging 60’s with their yé-yé-inspired wedding dresses. Max Chaoul, Paul&Joe, Suzanne Ermann and others have all added mod mini-dresses to their collections. I’m sure that it’s a trend that’s going to take off with hip-n-stylish brides in the U.S. and UK as well. I think that designers are looking back to the 60’s because it’s young, funky and non-traditional, and, IMHO, a much-needed breath of fresh air.

Pink Princess Wedding Dress

This photos all scoffed at Katie Price when she turned up at her wedding in a princess horse and carriage and got out looking like a huge pink meringue, but let’s be honest girls, that was all for show for fear of approving of her. Deep down in our inner child, we have all dreamed of being a princess on our wedding day, after all we are marrying our prince charmings aren’t we! I think Katie was very brave to put two fingers up to the establishment i.e the media, and show that she was not going to be told by designers what was the trend for this season, but go with what she instinctively wanted to wear for her big day.

Best white beach wedding dresses

White Wedding dresses have traditionally been based on the popular styles of the day. For example, in the 1920s, wedding dresses were typically short in the front with a longer train in the back and were worn with cloche-style wedding veils. A beach wedding is more relax and of course, informal. Nevertheless, it is a special day most especially for the bride. The bride and the bridal dress is always the main focus of any wedding event. It is therefore necessary that the wedding dress should be chosen well. The beach wedding dress should be chosen to cope with the summer heat and white dress. A haltered or a strapless cotton dress will be most suitable. The soft cotton can be hand sewn and hand beaded to make it more distinct and attractive. To avoid the dress from getting wet, choose one that is knee length. And since the feet will be most visible, the bride can either chose to go barefoot or to wear an elegant beach sandals, a strappy sandal or a simple flip flops.

What can be more romantic than a wedding on the beach? The sand, the surf, the sun setting over the beach, the sound of seagulls and waves lapping upon the shore it seems fairy tale perfect. So how does one go about a beach wedding? A beach wedding is more relax and of course, informal. Nevertheless, it is a special day most especially for the bride.

Some tips for choose matching wedding dress for great bride

After the engagement you have to think about marriage and of course the most important thing is to choose the appropriate wedding dress with you, here are some tips for choosing a wedding dress.
First: Find the reference from the Internet or magazines featuring wedding dresses, including Brides, Modern Bride, Bridal Guide and WeddingBells.

Second: select the silhouette of a dress that fits like a kind of dress will flatter your figure best. Some silhouette dress like:
Ball gowns have very full skirts and generally will look beautiful on any body type, unless the bride is very short and small.

A-line usually have a fitted bodice with a skirt that flares gently from the waist to form an “A” form. generally suitable for all brides as well, and is a great choice for someone who wants to hide the lack of lower body, but do not want a party dress. A-line ball gown not entirely.

Sheaths flatter women with slim, balanced figures. Seem modest wedding dress, bride will not hide any errors. do not use this dress if you do not want to take any risks.

Empire waist gowns have a skirt that falls from just below the breasts. Although usually listed with various types and waistline not always considered a type of silhouette, they are a wonderful choice for a casual, non-formal wedding, or weddings in a tropical climate. This dress can be chosen for pregnant brides because they provide extra space at the waist, making them a convenient choice.

white wedding dress is usually the first choice but you can try other colors such as ivory or red, as long as your wedding theme, as well as for the wedding hairstyle is also noteworthy.
