parisian wedding hairstyle trends 2010

Nothing gives a bridal look that sought-after Frenchy flair as much as a chic Parisian-inspired chignon.  As I’ve mentioned before, Parisians take their chignon very seriously, and if you’re planning a wedding in Paris, then you should too!  Here are some of the newest wedding hairstyle trends coming out of the Parisian salons, along with the weddings that inspire them:

fresh and natural chignon, camille aubane, paris

First, take a look at this fresh and natural look-  perfect for a springtime ceremony in a Parisian garden, right?  A band of laurel is worked around straight bangs, then the rest of the hair is lightly crinkled and brought back into a relaxed “chignon banane“. Hairdresser: Camille Albane.
royal and dramatic chignon, saint algue, paris

Long straight hair is first twisted into several small chignons, then hair extensions are added to create one large, voluminous chignon-  a dramatically royal look fit for a French Chateau wedding. Hairdresser: Saint Algue.
chic and glamorous chignon, la biosthétique, paris

Perfect for a star-lit, nighttime reception on the Avenue Montaigne, the hair is drawn back and wrapped around a postiche to create this chic Parisian look. Hairdresser: La Biosthétique.

artsy chignon, jean-marc maniati, paris

A small, intimate wedding in a loft or atelier in the Marais calls for an equally artsy hair look. Bangs are completely smooth, while the rest of the hair is crimped and pinned into a texturized chignon. The look is softened with the addition of fresh white flowers to one side.  Hairdresser: Jean-Marc Maniatis

modern aristocratic chignon, michel dervyn, paris

A crystallized tiara gives this sleek and elegant chignon the modern aristocratic look needed for an haute couture wedding at the Hotel Crillon or Chateau de Versailles. Hairdresser: Michel Dervyn.
