I am a wedding trend watcher and every year I make my own list of what I think will be trendy. So, here is my 2010 trends to watch.
- Elegant Bride – Wedding gown attire: romantic ruffles and lots of texture. The reception incorporates creative comfort food with an innovative twist on classic dishes. Keep it simple décor design – a complete streamlined and minimalists look.
- Eco Friendly Bride – The eco-wedding style combines a mix of 70s bohemian throwbacks with a vintage remix. Look for eco-friendly “green” venues that are energy efficient and gifts made of recycled material. There will be hydration “water” stations instead of individual plastic water bottles, pitchers or glasses of water on the tables.
- Glam Bride – The style is “over the top” glam with a decidedly modern flair. Watch out for eye-catching linens with pattern designs. The fashionista’s love affair continues with a bold color scheme. Sparkle continues with an abundance of sequins and shimmer.
- Fab Bride – The fab bride continues to break all of the rules. Look for gown silhouettes emphasizing asymmetrical cuts, off shoulder and plunging neckline designs. The color palette is a fusion of jewel color tones. Social Media (Twitter/Facebook) will play a major role in this wedding. A continuing trend will be wedding party gender role reversals.
